Yep, you read right, a 1990 Ralley SportCoupe. The car started with VERY humble beginnings with a 3.1/auto with 3.23's filling the rearend. This car had most every option gm could think of. It's fully loaded doors (locks/windows/mirrors) really made me want to build the car and retain all those cool options.
This is my personal car, and personally I don't care much for the ground effects...so i took them off, long with the front/rear bumper covers and replaced them with some SportCoupe bumper covers from an '87 LT. I really liked the way it came out. I'll let the pictures do the talking though...
Here she is when i brought her back to the house:

Here were some of the real problem areas with the body:

Getting pulled apart and ready to be cleaned:

Engine bay painted and ready to recieve a motor finally!
NOW, to start working on that quarter panel...I had to take about 3/4" of Kitty-hair bondo off of it first.

and with the GFX fully pulled discarded
The motor at the time of initial build was a 305 CI sbc that had been in a few cars before. it was a very simple combination, but worked VERY well. Holley 650 Double Pumper sitting atop a Holley Street Dominator inake manifold (p/n 300-36). Those breathed through a set of stock 416 casting HO 305 heads. Crane Energizer aluminum roller rockers provided the valve action with the Crane Blue Racer 214/224 .442/.465 cam. 9.5:1 C/R with hyper pistons, forged rods, and a stock crank. Hedman Hedders longtube headers with a dual 2 1/2" h-piped exhaust finish up the combination. a built 700r4 with a 10" ATI 2400 stall converter and 4.10 gears round out the driveline. This combo was SUPER streetable and could knock down 22+mpg on the highway. The car bested a 13.03 @ 103mph on a 1.79 60' time.
Here is a pic of the first 305 combo in it's proper place.
The finished product of the car is beautiful. Jeremy Winters, a good friend of mine did the paint.

New pics are coming soon!
